What is salvaged is never truly lost; it simply waits for an unexpected narrative. What began as an instinctive conversation with Chiki Doshi evolved into ‘Echoes in Light’ - a collaborative transformation hosted at the Mahendra Doshi atelier in Mumbai. For this project, over 150 rare antiques spanning eras and styles, from weathered stone pillars to centuries-old Chinese ceramics were awakened as luminous, collectible lamps. Breaking conventional design norms, each antiquity is juxtaposed with a contemporary statement shade to revive its storied past. From vintage hand-pleated brocade to sheer mesh that throws intricate shadows, every piece was meticulously brought to life by master artisans in Pune, Mumbai and Delhi. By layering ancient patience with imagination, this collection shapes the pieces from the past for a contemporary eye.
