A Museum of Living History was created for Mahindra at their iconic Mahindra Towers in Worli. A small area of 4000 sq ft in the lower basement area was carved out to create the space required. The museum tells the story of the group’s evolution and growth of the years. Stories of success and failure, ethics and bravery, of people and innovation, collected over the last 75 years form the foundation for the content of the museum. The physical space took the form of the nautilus shell, spiraling upwards towards the skies, symbolizing constant growth. Every aspect of the museum is layered with meaning - art objects and installations, technology, hype-boxes and holo-boxes all capture the spirit of the group and their diverse businesses. Films explain the history and growth of the company, and charming animated stories feature the people and values of the group. The space also features an original simulator used to train Formula E race drivers and an amphitheater where the roof opens up to a spiral skylight. The museum is dramatically lit with a bright red tactile screen at the entry passage and also features a small garden of delight in its outdoor space.
